What is there to Do in eda?

Eda offers a wide range of activities year round. Summertime attracts the natural surroundings to eg fishing, canoeing and hiking on Finnskogsleden, a 24 km long walking trail from Morokulien in the south to Trysil in the north. At Noresund you can play at the 18-hole golf course surrounded by the beautiful lake Hugn.

During the Winter there are many opportunities for skiing - both cross country and downhill. Valfjället Ski Center is one of the southernmost ski resorts in Sweden with 12 runs. Additionally, you can find a variety of recreational facilities, including a number of tracks for jogging / cross country skiing, an ice rink, several shooting facilities and gymnastic / sports halls.

The district has many border historic monuments, including the Peace Monument on the Swedish/Norwegian border, Eda Skans, Eda Skans Museum,  WW II Museum in Järnskog and Skansen Hultet. Eda Glass factory was shut down already in 1953, but much glass is preserved and displayed at Eda Glass Museum.

Homestead compounds are very active, especially in the Summer when the fascilities are open to the public. There you can buy coffee/tea and homemade bread, view crafts and exhibitions, and enjoy entertainment of various kinds that attract visitors every year to take a trip to these historic surroundings.
